Huawei Digital Power has signed a new partnership with Golden Peaks Capital (GPC) to roll out 500 MWh of grid-forming battery storage across Central and Eastern Europe. Under the agreement, Huawei will provide its advanced All-Scenario Grid-Forming storage technology, while GPC will lead development and deployment in key markets like Poland and Hungary. The collaboration builds on GPC’s growing solar portfolio of 1.7 GW and its existing battery storage pipeline of 392 MW/1.6 GWh.
The initiative aims to improve grid stability at a time when Europe’s electricity systems are becoming increasingly reliant on wind and solar. Unlike conventional storage, grid-forming batteries can independently provide voltage and frequency support — helping grids stay stable even with high renewable penetration. By combining Huawei’s technology strength with GPC’s regional presence, the project aligns closely with Europe’s carbon-neutrality goals and its push for more flexible, resilient clean-energy infrastructure.
